We are My Physio My Health; a large multi-disciplinary family oriented health company with clinics located in Holden Hill and Lightsview, Adelaide, South Australia.
Studies show that sitting more than 8 hours a day significantly increases your risk of type 2 diabetes, heart disease, obesity, cancer, depression and anxiety, as well as neck and back pain.
We are excited to announce we are expanding our services offering with an accredited exercise physiologist starting on-site. Exercise physiologists specialise in clinical exercise interventions for people with a broad range of health issues.
We would like to wish all our patients a safe and happy Easter! 🐇
My Physio My Health Lightsview and Holden Hill will be closed from Good Friday (April 2) to Easter Monday (April 5) and reopening on Tuesday April 6.
You will still be able to book an appointment online anytime.
Have a great break everyone!
The important thing to know is that there are many different things that can cause knee pain. Come book in with us today to find out what’s causing YOUR pain and we can get you back on track!
Generally speaking, it is better to squat/land with your knees aligned over your second toe. When you squat and your knees cave in towards each other, it might mean your glutes (specifically the gluteus medius muscle) are not doing their job well. This can lead to knee irritation and pain, and increases your risk of injury!
A common complaint we see in the clinic. In the early phase of an injury our focus is to reduce pain and restore normal mobility through the foot and ankle. However, once your pain is gone, your journey is not complete.
It is important to have good strength and mobility of your intrinsic foot muscles. These small muscles support your arch and distribute forces evenly through your foot as you move around. It is also important to have strong and mobile calves because they also help with force absorption as you take a step and with power production as you push-off
Try these 3 simple exercises to help relieve plantar fasciitis, or pain at the sole of your foot.
We commonly see patients in the clinic with foot pain and plantar fasciitis, and an effective way to relieve pain is to stretch and release the soft tissues of the foot and ankle, as well as strengthening the intrinsic foot muscles so they can tolerate greater load 💪.
